The Library With the Humming Lights

October 05, 2026•1 min read

“You’re allowed to choose warmth over reach.”

I once chose a small library room over a larger event space.

The library had carpet that muted footsteps.
Fluorescent lights that hummed faintly.
A faint smell of old paper and radiator heat.

Ten chairs fit comfortably. Twelve felt crowded.

It wasn’t impressive.

But it was warm.

Choosing smaller spaces can feel like shrinking.

Sometimes it’s refinement.

Not every season is meant for expansion.

Some are meant for depth.

You’re allowed to choose warmth over reach.
