Looking Ahead Without Urgency

July 20, 20261 min read

“Looking ahead without urgency doesn’t mean you lack ambition.”

On New Year’s Eve one year, I wrote ambitious goals on a legal pad.

By February, I was already negotiating with myself.

Now I write fewer things.

I ask different questions.

What feels aligned?
What feels honest?
What feels sustainable?

Looking ahead without urgency doesn’t mean you lack ambition.

It means you trust timing.

You don’t have to sprint into the next season.

You can step.

There’s room.
